Middlemount Coal Mine is located at Bowen Basin in Queensland, Australia and covers an area of 28 square kilometers. Themine is approximately 300 kilometers away from Abbot Point port. The construction of Middlemount Coal Mine started in 2009 andcommercial production commenced in 2011.

The Company uses conventional truck shovel open-pit mining methods to extract coal at MiddlemountCoal Mine and the mine primarily produces coking coal and PCI coal. As of December 31, 2013, Middlemount Coal Mine’s JORC-compliant reserves were approximately 89.8 million tonnes. As ofthe same date, the mine’s marketable coal reserves were approximately 64.5 million tonnes. The mine has an annual designedproduction capacity of 5.25 million tonnes.

Middlemount Coal Mine has a coal preparation plant with anannual capacity of 5.25 million tonnes. The main pieces of equipment used in the coal preparation plant are screw machines withflotation devices. The Company transportscoal products from Middlemount Coal Mine via railway.
