From October 28th to November 5th, Mr. Li Xiyong, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for Yankuang Group and Chairman of the Board of Yanzhou Coal Mining Company, accompanied by Mr. Shi Xuerang, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Yankuang Committee and Vice General Manager, and Mr. Zhang Yingmin, Vice General Manager of Yankuang Group, paid an investigation and research visit in Yancoal Australia.

At six am, October 28th, Mr. Li Xiyong and his team started a three-hour journey to Premier Coal once they arrived in Perth, West Australia after a night flight, and in the afternoon, they heard the performance report of Yancoal Australia there. In the following seven days, Mr. Li Xiyong paid site visit to bauxite project and eight coal mines successively, respectively in West Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales; he went to the mine sites and working faces, heard reports from operation management team, and learned about operations of each mine in details.

Mr. Li emphasized that Yancoal Australia should, based on different mines’ geologic conditions, locations, coal varieties, production conditions, strengthen operation management, improve operation efficiency, increase benefits and profits and market competitiveness by means of reducing costs and raising the level of coal quality and other measures.

Mr. Li stated that to fully achieve synergy between Yankuang Group, Yanzhou Coal Mining Company (Yanzhou Coal) and Yancoal Australia, we should make full use of international and domestic resources and markets, achieve information sharing, efficient cooperation, and mutual development, establish scientific communication system between Yancoal Australia and Yanzhou Coal, to ensure proper, smooth and efficient information exchanges, and strengthen internal control on exchange rate and taxation and other important aspects to prevent risks and ensure healthy and stable operation.

Mr. Li required Yankuang Group and Yanzhou Coal to attach great importance to and provide full support to Yancoal Australia, and he particularly stressed the importance of promoting internationalized talent team construction, caring for expatriates’ work, life and career path, and doing as much as possible to liberate those staffs from all kinds of worries and troubles.
